The Rules You Set Can Be Changed At Any Time
I ran out of time but needed to publish, so I rewrote my ruleset for the day.
When I started this daily writing challenge, the minimum goal was 500 words an article.
While creating short and quick articles could have been fun, it’s more meaningful for me to get into a subject with some depth. Often I think an article will be short and it ends up being 1100 words, and it poured out of me in 30 minutes. Still, it takes a good hour or more to complete a longer article.
Due to how my day went, including cutting my finger as you see with the bandaid in the thumbnail, stuff went late.
It’s 9:32 PM as I write this sentence and frankly I don’t have the motivation to go dig into a topic.
There are other chores, including supper to deal with.
Still, like working out, a little bit goes a long way.
All I need to do is publish an article about a topic every day
If an article ends up being short, that’s okay.
I almost skipped writing today because I didn’t know what to write about. I was stumped by the weird ruleset I grew into. Then I remembered, jotting down anything is still practicing.
The only person who cares how long this is, is me.
Truth is, I can change the rules whenever I want.
Pivot your day to do the most you can

I high key want that for my life, but to also assess all my work, then decide how long it will take me to do. In the meantime I try to run my day like that. There was a pharmacy run that was unexpected but the apartment needed urgent cold medicine.
Life happens.
Being a little punk and not writing anything wouldn’t help me achieve my goals.
I’ve already missed 4 days this year, honestly, that’s okay.
The important thing was learning to fit writing into any day
Getting caught up in the technicalities will make you lose sight of the bigger picture.
I’ve reached a point where I now prioritize writing over other tasks. I’ve stopped doing Uber Driver, to come home and write, before hitting the road again. It’s like working out, if you never make the time, it doesn’t happen.
Even if this article is a fluff piece in the eyes of some, it’s still another notch on the belt.
Just remember, if you made the rules, you can break them.
Chances are no one else really cares anyway.
